Call these baby amps, “size of a cigarette pack”, and the scale isn’t terrifically far off.

(Maybe there’s a better comparison I
haven’t thought of, but handiness is the most apparent. Fits shirt pocket, etc.

Going to try my Galaxy stock mic too on this tomorrow since 980 has talkback. The chrome on the factory mic stands out and in the neighborhood I'm in I'd rather not have shiny in car/truck. May move the 203 up under the radio with zip ties too and off the hump where it kinda laying in the open.

i mod those mics n they work just fine.easy to do too

kenworth is stingy in the radio compartment. Wanted to put my galaxy 99v in but even with a 90 degree mic adapter its too big to fit in that little cubby hole.
Wonder if kw n uniden are in kahoots?

My amp was prior in the truck. Never above 1.3 with amp on. Will check tomorrow too.

What do you mean by you Mod the mics?? The factory Uniden or the Galaxy ones?

My Galaxy mic looks like a Workman 507-4 with Ranger stamped in back plastic.

I’ve bought the replacement factory part as a spare in a 367 Pete and another truck . Then cut out the original to fit the radio the way I want.

When I get out of that truck I fit the new piece into place. Like nothing ever happened.

It’s how I ran my 99v2 in the oilfield.

Final pic. Galaxy mic had more modulation it appears over factory. SWR was flat this morning at less than 1.3 with AMP on.

Still have to clip zip ties. I offset a tiny bit to not totally cover speaker.

was seeing 25w dk on AM and SSB goes over 100w with a whistle. Voice is showing like 60-80w.

Have a look at the TALL swivel HAM radio bracket at BELLS CB.


(There are also mounts that go on trans tunnel. See also CLAYS CB).

If dimensions work, make it easy to R&R. Remove gear as is convenient (Hide).

Or, throw your nasty-looking safety gear over it when out of truck.

i measured the 980 it's like 7 1/4" wide. The Cobra 29 says 7 1/4" and some bracket say 7 1/2" for the C29, so I am confused.

I use thin rubber washers as spacers between bracket & radio. Cabinet hardware section or specialty fasteners and washers at HD.

i used the included rubber washers. I'll just order up and see what comes. Will be better than the zip ties for air and speaker too. Just like $7 for a black bracket.

Take m9c apart.it has a round bandaid looking thing stuck on,remove n toss.then under it is a VERY small hole.carefully drill that hole out little bit at a time,test n redrill.seems like i quit at 3/16",brought modulation up loud n proud
