meanwhile out in the garage ...

357magnum,
Those are the factory tail lights. The brake light bulbs are 1156(?) bulbs. Without the LED’s working, the car has no tail lights at all.
The driver module is an updated module. A “G” revision to the original TL4242. Fingers crossed.

Are my eyes wrong, or is that gasket on backwards?

Syncrowave 350 (Tig). Square wave, 30 mil pulse, just enough out of balance to clean the wound.
Wish I had a square wave, love to heli-arc. Have 4lb. spool gun that doesn't like me much, got used once to build alum boat. Worked great with 75/25. With TIG I know what is there, but argon costs a lot. Lots of SS and Alum down here for attachments and rails on boats. SW would make that easier, although I hate ruining tungsten balling ends with Act/Oxy.

No runs, no drips, no errors.
Thanks to all of you for playing along at home.
Many thanks to :
Tom Bosley of Cascade Designs Inc. for the welding.
Peter Jones, (CrazyPJ) for the always unique Welsh view of all things mechanical.
Rock auto for one of the few remaining FelPro head gaskets in the known universe.
Snap On tools, because.
Dmans and Nomad for picking up the phone
Mike because he gets it .
Keven for a variety of reasons
My pretty Lady for her patience.
And to Bob, The '77 Dodge Colt that despite my machinations continues to respond with his own satisfying refrain of suck, squeeze, bang, blow.
